Organizations today depend on multicultural teams to deliver on their strategy to compete in an increasingly globalized world. The ability to manage and leverage cultural differences plays a significant role in achieving project success. Cultural intelligence, the ability to quickly, comfortably, and successfully adapt to new cultural contexts, is becoming an increasingly important skill for individuals at all levels of the organization and especially at the managerial and senior leadership level.

The workshop will provide a framework for understanding cultural differences by focusing on the core cultural dimensions that drive behavior in cross-cultural collaboration. Understanding these dimensions is critical to appreciating what dignity means in different cultures and for identifying, diagnosing, and mitigating real and perceived dignity violations that erode trust and undermine the performance of multicultural teams.

The workshop draws from evidence-based insights from the growing body of research in social and cultural neuroscience demonstrating the substantial degree to which cultural values influence how the brain processes social experience and shape the way we make decisions, solve problems, and collaborate with others in a multicultural teams.The aim of the workshop is to move participants beyond the simple dos and don’ts of cultural awareness to a more sophisticated understanding and appreciation of cultural differences.
